Jakub Jančo is a Slovak photo-based artist. In 2015, he completed his MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, where he studied in the studio of Creative Photography led by Miro Švolík. During his studies he attended exchange programs at the SAIMAA University in Finland and at the University of Arizona in USA. Jakub has participated in various workshops and exhibitions throughout central Europe and the United States.

Using different methods of observation, he mostly works on long-term projects dealing with the visual definition of life and its idiosyncrasies. Jakub also cooperates with Canadian artist Deanna Pizzitelli, and together they challenge perceptions of identity and selfhood. He currently resides in Ottawa, Canada.
